Description:
Colt Single Action Army First Generation Black Powder Frame Revolver in .45 Colt Caliber. I do not know the history of this revolver at all as it was given to me by a family member, but it does not seem completely matching. The serial number is 13892 on the back-strap unit and the trigger-guard unit. The number on the gate is 2548. I could not identify a number on the frame. It appears that the gun had an early refinish at some point and the existing finish now is a bluish-brown patina with ubiquitous presence throughout. The bore is in excellent condition with nice and clear rifling. The gun seems to have had some kind of a trigger job, as I’ve never seen a SAA with such a sensitive and smooth trigger from the factory. The Barrel Length is 5 ½”. The grips are original Colt plastic grips. There is a bit of faded bluing at the muzzle, ejector rod housing, and on the cylinder face, and there is a cylinder drag line present. I would rate the remaining finish at 70%-85% overall. The gun is mechanically perfect with a nice lockup and excellent timing. The frame is stamped “PAT.SEPT.19.1871” “JULY.2.-72” “JAN.19.-75”. The top of the barrel is stamped “COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO HARTFORD CT. USA. *Upon this sale, the gun will only be shipped to a FFL dealer. Will only ship within the lower 48 states.
