Very Rare Winchester 1866 1st Model Flatside Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial number 14390. Very early gun made in 1866. Gun is all matching with the frame, stock, and butt plate all numbered. Very good patinaed receiver. Barrel has a dark gray patina with scattered pitting throughout. Barrel address is still visible. Stock has a rifle butt plate which was standard for this period of production. Very hard to find these early model 1866s. These are known as flat sides as there are no contours of the receiver where it meets the frame and the flat loading gate.
