Description:
Serial #65497, .30-40 Krag, 29” barrel with a very good bore that has a fine, bright bore that has traces of freckling within the grooves. This is an 1896 dated rifle that has 95-97% original blue remaining on the barrel with some gray fading at the muzzle and on a few of the high edges and projections. The receiver has muted original color case-hardening, while the magazine door has most of the original blue remaining mixed with some graying on the balance. The bolt is armory bright with darker spots on the handle, and the extractor still has almost all of the original bright fire blue remaining. The walnut stock and handguards have small handling marks and surface blemishes scattered about the excellent added armory oil finish and the cartouche is still legible. A segmented cleaning rod and metal oiler are present in the stock compartment and the rifle rates fine-excellent condition overall. Antique
