Description:
Serial #488422, .22 LR, 6” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very nice looking revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and ejector. The metal retains 92-95% of the original blue with some fading on the sides of the muzzle, and on the frame at the barrel breech. There are some small spots of silvering along the exposed edges, as well as on the edges of the trigger guard bow. The hammer and trigger retain 70-75% of the original color case-hardening with the balance turned to a faintly freckled gray patina. The walnut target grips are in fine shape with only minor surface scratches and small blemishes, mostly around the butt. The revolver is accompanied by a 2016 dated S&W factory letter that lists a ship date of July 5, 1928 to the Marley Murphy Co. of Milwaukee, WI as part of a two gun shipment. The lock-up is tight and the revolver rates fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
