Description:
Original Box of Winchester 40-70 for the Sharps rifle. Ref page 103 Winchester cartridge boxes 1856-1956 by Giles and Shuey. The box is sound showing a very good plus top and front label (no "S" on the Sharps call out). The bottom shows the correct reloading call out. There is a strip of tape on the bottom seam and a partial strip on the interior top seam. All cartridges are original factory with he correct W.R.A. Co 40-70 headstamp. All correct and factory rounds but from at least two different production runs. Note No end label.
