BARREL: length 26", open rear sight, blade front sight, bore is Fair to Good,
RECEIVER: back action, outside hammers, double triggers with adjustable rifle trigger (amazing for its time), side button release, brass two-piece trigger guard
STOCK: Walnut, checkered pistol grip, cheekpiece with shadow line, original smooth finish with no cracks, brass crescent butt,
Metal on receiver and barrels in the white, fairly even patina all over with heavy areas where hand would have been placed when firing, gun can be left alone or easily cleaned up,
JACOB HARDER WAS ACTIVE IN ATHENS, PA FROM 1838-1860 AND LATER LOCK HAVEN, PA FROM 1860-1888, RIFLE IS MARKED HARDER'S PATENT, JUNE 1885, HARDER MADE PERCUSSION PENNSYLVANIA RIFLES, AND PISTOLS INCLUDING CASED DUELING PISTOLS. HE ALSO PRODUCED OVER/UNDER RIFLES (AND COMBOS), SINGLE BARREL PERCUSSION RIFLES, AS WELL AS A BUFFALO RIFLE.
