Colt Sauer Grand African Rifle made in Germany for Colt. I bought the gun new in 1978, I also still have the original box.
This is one beautiful piece, African Bubinga wood with beautiful rosewood forend, the bluing could not be brighter, the bolt action not only the best, it is the smoothest action that I have seen. The magazine is detachable { see pictures } and holds 3 rounds of 458.
The barrel is 23 in with fixed sights.
These guns were only imported by Sauer of Germany with Colt's brand on them for a few years as they were just too expensive, as I recall the retail price in the 70's was over $1000. The African Bubinga wood was only available on the Grand African and only as an option. The base mounts will come with the gun as they are very hard to find. The scope and rings are optional.
