This is a very solid double rifle that has nearly all of its mechanical life left in it and built with a large frame for comfortable 470 shooting at 11 lbs. 5 oz. This is flat out one nice British boxlock that is in excellent condition for extended hunting and shooting. /////////////////////////////////// This piece is most likely a James Wilkinson of the Wilkinson Sword Co. Ltd. From 1906 to 1920 Wilkinson put no serial numbers on their guns until after 1920. This gun is numbered 55517 and most likely built about 1922. They quit selling guns in 1939.
