The action has full coverage, large, open scroll and acanthus engraving with the lockplates featuring game scenes. Six quail and two ducks in a grassy setting grace the right side and the left side features a pair of setters flushing woodcocks. The barrels retain 97% of what appears to be the original blue finish and the action retains most of its case hardened color with silver on the high edges and normal hand wear..................... Densely marbled and stump figured, dark European walnut is used for the pistol grip stock and three piece forearm. Fleur-de-lis checkering covers the grip surfaces and a starburst carved horn cap is fitted to the grip. There is a yet-to-be-initialed oval in the toe line. The original hand rubbed oil finish has been beautifully maintained with only minor marks..................... The bores are excellent and the action is tight.
