This piece started out as a Webley copy made in Belgium,and in .38 caliber. Then sent to Birmingham for possibly finishing,and definitely black powder proofed there ( photo ).Eventually converted to .22 with a new barrel and cylinder sleeves. Probably Europe of that period as it does not accept all brands of American .22,s,and the work is of high quality. It was reblued at time of conversion and light rust pitting,here and there can be seen.Mechanical works fine and lock up is decent for an antique over 100 years old.Round barrel is 2 3/4 inches and bore is decent.I have used mostly CB,s and shorts in it,because of age.I tried putting some .22 long riles,and some brands work and others do not.CCI Quiet .22LR ( 710 FPS ) go in nicely.Overall,a nice looking piece with a bit of extra weight for balance.I sell antique guns for collecting and display purposes. If a buyer intends to shoot , they must have a gunsmith check for safety in use and proper loads.Antiques can be sent to many places,but some Cities and States I cannot.You know where and please do not ask.
