Description:
Immaculate Pre War Winchester 70 standard rifle in 30-06. 24" Barrel. S/N 35xxx w/ matching bolt Mfg. 1941. Mechanics are flawless with mirror bore. 98% Blue slightly thinner on floor plate. 99%+ Varnish which has likely been top coated or refinished. There are 2 non factory drill holes in rear receiver bridge. Has the correct full base (non scalloped) Lyman 48 WJS peep sight which were often factory issued with these early rifles, but the cut out in stock is somewhat oversized from that of factory work. A beautiful rifle with a few collector discrepancies offered at a considerably discounted price from all original.
