SUPERIOR WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 OCTAGON .40-60 W.C.F. CAL RIFLE CA. 1887 W/FACTORY LETTER. 100% original and matching in the 57,xxx serial range with 28” octagon barrel and full length magazine tube. Model 1876 folding leaf rear sight and Winchester bead front. 90% plus original blue with balance an evenly mixed dark patina. Superb screws with most of the original blue. Hammer with most of the color case hardening on both sides. Stock and forend with nearly all of the original finish and only a very few minor dings. Perfect working order and excellent bright bore with well defined rifling. Even has the scarce original 5 piece cleaning rod in the butt. With Winchester factory letter stating it was shipped as is Sept. 23, 1887.
