Description:
I had this gun to an antique arms show in 1986 to help me understand what I had. The gun lock was removed and the letters KETLAND apeared on the lock. As you can see the gun has been converted to cap. Estimated build date early 1700s. The ram rod and associated holdinng fixtures were added after I purchased the gun. Sterling silver but plate and trigger guard. German silver otherwise. I would not be afraid to fire this gun. Brass barrel. I was told that the cross cannons and two balls engraved in the barrel indicates that the gun was proof fired with double charge and loaded with 2 balls.
