Description:
This is an original 1840 UNITED STATES MEDICAL STAFF sword in near mint condition, bought in the 1960's. The blade is frosty and has the UNITED STATES MEDICAL STAFF motto frosty engraved on the blade with foral design, on the other side again foral , and an eagle , with E. PLURIBUS UNUM ON A RIBBON. The scabbard has 98% gold wash intact on the grip, the cross guard, both hangers and drag ,just as ornate as can be. The M.S. AND THIRTEEN stars on the cross guard as the total sword are as near mint as it comes, this was collected so early there is no wear. The brown painted on the scabbard is unbelieveable unworn. You can not find a model 1840 Medical Staff sword in any better condition than this . The sword has not been presented so the shield is open on the reverse. The blade is the early rounded. Just a Rare sword in near mint condition, if your looking for this model this should be your choice.
