Single Shot No. 2 Deringer - Cal. .41 RF - 2 1/2" Bbl. - SN 3014 (1865). Perfect bore - bright with sharp rifling - excellent action , tight with perfect lock-up. Metal is excellent with no rust, pits, or corrosion and showing sharp markings. Barrel retains 75% blue with thinning in spots - iron frame has nice, crisp attractive factory engraving. Walnut grips are undamaged and retain 95% + original finish. National Arms produced about 12,000 of the No. 2 Deringer in Brooklyn, NY from 1865 to 1870 when the operation was bought out by Colt who continured the No. 2 under the Colt name with a few mechanical changes. A short-lived but popular pocket pistol in the early West and a rugged and scarce little Deringer. This piece is all original, untouched, and in Excellent + condition !
