Description:
National Arms Co. Single Shot No. 2 Deringer - Cal. .41 RF - 2 1/2" Bbl. - SN 3014 (1865).  Perfect bore - bright with sharp rifling - excellent action , tight with perfect lock-up.  Metal is excellent with no rust, pits, or corrosion and showing sharp markings.  Barrel retains 75%  blue with thinning in spots - iron  frame has nice, crisp  attractive factory engraving. Walnut grips are undamaged and retain 95% + original finish. National Arms produced about 12,000 of the No. 2 Deringer in Brooklyn, NY from 1865 to 1870 when the operation was bought out by Colt who continured the No. 2 under the Colt  name with a few mechanical changes. A short-lived but popular pocket pistol in the early West and a rugged and scarce little Deringer.  This piece is all original, untouched, and in Excellent + condition ! Will make a fine collector item for the late CW - Early West collector.
