Awesome 1948 “transition” style Winchester 70 in the difficult to find 22 Hornet. This style produced for only 3 years 1946-48. Incorporating pre war features such as clover leaf tang and superb workmanship along with the very cool clam shell safety found only on a relative handful of rifles from this specific production period. 24” standard weight Barrel. S/N 87xxx with matching bolt. Factory drilled for scope mounts on the smooth topped receiver both front and back. 96% Blue. 96% Varnish. Mechanics and bore are excellent. I have personally verified that this chamber has not been reamed out to K hornet or any other caliber! A very clean, 100% original rifle, in a highly coveted caliber and configuration.
