This Pre 70 Series Government Model .45 has some interesting and documented history.
Housed in its original number matching box that includes the "original bill of sale",
owners manual, part of a Colt postmarked, fabric envelope and photos of the original owner
Mr. Roland Bonner while serving our country in Vietnam. Interestingly the bill of sale is dated
May 26, 1966 and one of the photos of him in Vietnam is dated Feb 67. I was told Mr. Bonner
requested he be allowed to take his Colt .45 with him to Vietnam and was denied.
The condition of this Colt shows the owner took good care of his firearm. The original
blue finish is excellent on the slide and frame with the only loss of finish being the
thinning on the front strap and grip safety from use. The original Colt grips are free of chips
or cracks and there is minimal shrinkage which is common with these type of stocks.
The original box is in solid condition and is missing the end label.
