Description:
L.C. Smith Crown Grade 16 Gauge SxS
1 OF 6 MADE, ORIGINAL, TRADES OK!

General Specs: L.C. Smith, Year 1925, 16 Gauge, 7lb 4oz, Side-by-Side
Serial Number: 80330

What is rare...really?  How about 1 of 68 total Crown Grades in 16ga., 1 of 6 with 32" barrels, 1 of 2 so configured, 95% factory case color and blue, and all original parts?  This is the epitome of a truly rare, highly desirable vintage American double.  The Crown Grade engraving is some of the most handsome found on any American double gun.  This gun, sn80330 made in 1925, is an amazing classic L.C. Smith gun.  We did restore the butt stock as the finish was not on par with the rest of the gun.  All parts are original to the gun.  The screws are perfect, the bores are perfect, the engraving is crisp and clear, the triggers break like glass, the barrels are tight on the breech face and hinge pin like a new gun, the case color is bold and strong and everywhere, the wood to metal fit is superb...and those loooong 32" barrels.  What's not to like???  People often ask me "What is the best investment in a firearm?"  I always tell them the same thing...low production guns in smaller gauges, in high grades, with tons of original factory original condition...and with features sought after by the modern-day shooter/collector.  You could have all of the above qualifications on a gun with 24" barrels and you will have a hard time finding a buyer.  Today's shooter/collectors want long barrels.  This is one of those guns that have it all; rarity, condition, good shooting dimensions, and desirability, including outstanding wood figure and overall aesthetics.  This gun originally shipped to San Francisco California during the days that duck clubs like the Widgeon Duck Club were using small bore guns for waterfowling to provide better sport to their clients.  With the new availability of Bismuth shot in 16ga. shells from Rio and Kent Cartridge Co., or Nice Shot from RST shells, you can take her back to where she came...the duck marsh and pheasant fields.   Would make a great vintage clays gun or dove gun as well.  WHAT A GREAT FIND!  DON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY!
