SCARCE WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 YELLOW BOY .44 HENRY RF CAL. SADDLE RING CARBINE CIRCA 1874. 20” barrel and full length magazine tube. Early folding leaf factory rear sight and integral front band/front sight correct for this early 1866. Type used by the Sioux and Cheyenne at the Battle of the Little Big Horn and produced in 1874 two years before the battle. Desirable variation with brass carbine butt plate with original Winchester cleaning rod in butt plate compartment. 100% original with nice unpolished brass and nice dark patina mixed evenly with blue on barrel. Excellent original walnut stock and forend. Working order and excellent bore. A handsome early Model 1866 Carbine.
