John Moses Browning Design
Here is a Winchester Model 1894 lever action rifle. This rifle was manufactured in 1895, making it one of the relatively few true antiques of this model. Designed by John Moses Browning, the Model 94 was Winchester’s first lever action rifle designed to fire the groundbreaking smokeless powder cartridges for the modern cowboy. This rifle was produced in excess of 3,000,000, all the way to 1975 without a single change, demonstrating the efficacy of the design. Out of that 3 million there were only 100,000 of those that were made prior to 1898 and much fewer than that exist today.
This piece is in fantastic condition, especially for being 120 years old. The mechanism is smooth and crisp, the furniture is great, and the markings like new.
This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Other examples online are listed at over $8,000.
