Description:

In the highest grade offered by Darne, this sliding breech double from 1930 remains in excellent condition with ~95% original barrel blue. Full coverage of receiver in chiseled floral and scroll engraving with a french gray finish. 8 wedges of scroll engraving at the breech end of barrels.
The 26 ¾ inch “plume” barrels have 2 ½ inch chambers and are choked light-modified (.015) and improved-modified (.025). Bores are bright and unblemished.
The semi-pistol grip stock is an exceptionally figured piece of french walnut original to the gun. 14 ½ inch pull with a leather covered pad. 2 inch drop at the comb and 3 ½ inch drop at the heel. Sharp 22 lines/inch checkering. There is a hairline fracture at the top of the grip extending into the checkering which is absolutely inert and caused by the receiver anchor bolt which penetrates through the grip. This is common in older Darne shotguns.
The gun weighs 6 pounds and has ejectors and knurled double triggers with articulated front trigger. Serial number QQ-64
Comes in a contemporary custom french-fitted oak and leather case with brass fittings and lined in a soft gray wool cloth. Fitted accessories include a rosewood 2 piece cleaning rod with brass ferrules, jag and bore brush in a leather purse, rosewood handled brass chamber brush, oil pot and two interlocking horn handled screwdrivers. An original Darne brochure with instructions in English is also included.

$7,000 money order or cashier's check, plus $100 shipping via USPS Registered insured Priority Mail to FFL dealer or C&R license holder.
