Sharps 1874 .40-70 Sporting rifle. Made in 1876. 26"" barrel in .40-70 Bottle Neck. Action works perfectly and bore is excellent. Gun has double set triggers and letter as seen being shipped to E.C. Mecham in St. Louis. St. Louis was the passage to the west, so it was more than likely a gun that was sold to the western market. Good barrel, blue remains. Very nice Sharps that letter as seen!
