CALIBER, MADE 1911, often on special order rifles- like takedowns or half octagon barrels etc.- Winchester would pick out higher grade than standard walnut and this is obviously one such example, stock and forearm are an attractive reddish/brown color with loads of contrasting  fiddle back grain in both, wood shows normal very light handling with tight wood to metal fit, fine deep barrel and mag blue with minor thinning/edge wear only, receiver flaked to mostly gray, correct  "Smokeless" rear sight used only on this caliber with Marbles blade/bead front sight, exc. bore, tight action, the top of the receiver ring and takedown ring have been lightly flattened/filed- I assume this was done to get a lower sight picture- I actually owned this rifle for some time before I even noticed this and it is not a huge detractor, nice screws and tight takedown, very unusual with walnut this fancy!
