Description:
OFFER ACCEPTED PENDING FUNDS

The Winchester 1890 was the first slide action .22 rifle, designed by John Moses Browning for Winchester in the late 1880s.  This is a Third Model, with the octagonal barrel, takedown, and blued throughout.  It has the 1901 adjustable rear sight.

This rifle was bought in 1910 by my grandfather, Homer Webb Benton. He was raised on a farm in Dexter Michigan, took an Engineering Degree at the University of Michigan, and became the Head Engineer for Whiting Corporation in Chicago.  He used it to first to teach my father how to handle a rifle, and later to teach me.  It has been passed down in the family for 107 years.

The rifle is in unusual condition, the bluing wearing gently only on the receiver and the trigger guard.  The barrel is close to original.  No part of the rifle has been refinished in any way.   Hardly a scratch large or small on the metalwork.  The stock is unusually attractive in grain and color, although here are two small dents in the left side of the stock; do see the photographs.  The bore is excellent and the action crisp. The original ramrod comes with the rifle.

Postage is $30.00 in the lower 48 -- I will pay any shipping cost above that sum.
