Here is a J. Stevens Model 44 in caliber 25-20. This firearm has a serial number of 45603. The barrel is half octagon and half rounded with bluing that has started it's fading process,. The wood has scratch's from wear and use thoughout it's history. This is a breech loading firarms, and the action is still very crisp for its age. The butt pad is steel.***NOTE THE CORRECTED MODEL NUMBER IN THE HEADING. THIS WAS MISIDENTIFIED AS A MODEL 44 1/2, WHEN IN FACT IT'S A MODEL 44.***********************************
