Mauser Luger P-08 (coded42) Dated 1936 Ser 52XX.
This beauty is dated the first year for the Mauser WWII Luger. Production date 1934 guns were stamped “K” and 1935, "G". Then in 1936 Mauser used the 4 digit year above the chamber on the receiver. To find a 1936 in this pristine condition is rare indeed. The gun still has at least 98-99% of the original factory blue. It has lost some finish, very slightly on the muzzle, sharp edges, and as usual, the stock lug and side plate. There are no pits, rust or rub marks or flaking anywhere. The grips straps show no use or any signs of graying. The frame is stamped Drooping Eagle/63, Drooping Eagle/63, and Drooping Eagle. The barrel is also marked Drooping Eagle. All parts match. The trigger safety lever, take down lever, magazine release, and extractor have retained about 97-98% of their original straw color. The wooden grips are as pristine as the gun. No splits or chips, just a few scattered flattened points. The grip screws are bright blue and unmarred. The bolt face and the feed ramp have little or no indication of any use. The bore, like the rest of the gun is very bright and super sharp with just the scantest hint of frosting. The gun comes with one nickeled aluminum bottom magazine serial 4720. If you ever wanted a first year dated Mauser P-08 here it is and it's a winner in every respect. ....$2695.**
