Description:
A very nice Army Navy from the late 1800's that appears to be in original condition. Very good dimensions for a gun of this era with 30" barrels and a 14 7/8" LOP.
There is a case with an Army Navy label but it does not appear to be the original case. There are some brushes and a 2 piece wooden cleaning rod with the case. The case needs serious TLC and appears to have been varnished over on the outside (read: don't buy the gun for the case!).
The gun was originally proofed at 2 1/2" and the chambers have been opened at some point in the last 115 years to accomodate modern 2 3/4" shells but it was orginally nitro proofed for 1 1/8 oz loads. So, the gun is "technically" out of proof as are many English guns of this era.
This is a very nice gun and an exceptional value at the price. If it had the original manufacturer's name (likely Webley Scott) instead of Army Navy CSL it would likely be twice the price in this condition.
