Description:
This 45-70 Trapdoor - Springfield Model 1873 rifle has a round tapered 1" to 13/16" x 31" barrel fitted with an adjustable |2/2|873 trapdoor rear sight and a blade front sight. Stamped on the left side of the barrel is US Model 1873 Cal 45-70 Govt. Stamped on the right side of the barrel is Harrington and Richardson Inc Gardner Mass Made in USA. The bore is in excellent condition. The P grade Walnut stock is mounted with iron furniture, including sling swivels. An inspector cartouche can be seen on the bottom of the butt stock behind the trigger guard. The trapdoor breech block is dated US Model 1873. Breechblock and butt plate have been color-case hardened. Stamped on the lock plate is US Springfield and the spread eagle. Length of pull is 13-1/2". Good wood to metal fit - made by Harrington & Richardson Inc. Condition: Good. Our stock number is A227 - P-26-61. Will ship anywhere in the USA, buyer pays freight and insurance.
