Description:
This black powder frame Colt shipped January 19, 1892 to E.C Meacham Arms Company, St. Louis, MO. The top of the barrel has the correct 2 line Hartford address, and the left side is correctly marked 45 COLT. Patent marks and Rampant Colt are correct, as are the hammer, ejector rod and cylinder pin. Grips are Colt, are correct, but likely old replacements. Serial numbers are correct and matching. I have no explanation for the notches marked in the grips.
Condition: The revolver retains 15% of the factory blued finish with darker concentrations of blue in the protected areas. Traces of case coloring remain in the protected areas of the frame. The grips are fine showing some handling marks and the notches mentioned above. Mechanically excellent. Colt Archive Letter included.
