Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are way proud to offer this stunning LC Smith Specialty Grade 2 barrel set. Right out of the famous Frank Pachmayr collection, it is cased in a beautiful leather case bearing his name. He only collected the finest of specimens, and this gun is no exception. This is one time where a White Line pad can actually increase the value of the shotgun. Made in the year of our Lord 1922, she is in fine condition. The blue is deep and rich, the highly figured wood is gorgeous, and case color can still be found about the receiver. The 30 and 26 inch barrels are fraternal twins. The long tubes are original, and the second set was most likely fitted in the 1940's. That would explain why the barrel address was omitted, since Marlin had taken ownership by then. Both are fitted with hand filling beavertail forends. The 30 inch tubes are choked old school, full and full, while the 26 inch barrels are modified and full. All serial numbers match, including the stock. I had the LC Smith Collectors research this gun, and it is a low production item. Of 720 Specialty Grades produced in 16 gauge, only 198 had 30 inch barrels, and only 101 were made in this same configuration. The bores are bright, ejectors toss the empties, and the lever resides to the right of center. The 3 position safety allows you to have it operate automatically or not. She weighs in at about 6 3/4 pounds with the Featherweight frame, and has an LOP of 14 1/4 inches. The pistol grip cap bears 3 initials, which I like to think are RFK. If you have been looking for the right graded Elsie, and want the added clout of a 2 barrel set in 16 gauge, then look no further.
