SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1868 TRAPDOOR .50-70 CAL. INFANTRY RIFLE W/BAYONET. 100% original, complete and with matching serial numbers in the 29,xxx range (1871 manufacture). All correct and unaltered in any way. Breechblock dated 1869. Faint partial cartouche on left side of stock at wrist. Very good overall with original crisp patina and excellent lock markings. Stock has the original finish with some storage and use dents. Perfect working order and brilliant, very near mint bore. Excellent and scarce original bayonet. These saw considerable service during the post Civil War Indian Wars.
