Description:
For sale, a Smith & Wesson Model 25-5 chambered in .45 Long Colt in excellent condition. This vintage S&W 25-5 is serial number N828852, which puts it's date of production between the years 1980 and 1983. This N-frame Smith has a target hammer, trigger, and grips. It has an adjustable white outline rear sight for windage and elevation, and a serrated ramp front sight with a factory high viz orange insert on the pinned 6 inch barrel. The high gloss S&W factory blue finish is original and would grade at 98% plus. It has a small spot void of finish to the right of the "45 COLT CTG" stamp on the right side of the barrel, a faint drag line around the cylinder, a slightly thinned spot on the crown of the muzzle, and a very small spot at the rear edge of the cylinder. All of these flaws have been pictured close up as you can see. They are all VERY minor, and do not detract from this revolver's beautiful appearance. The bore and cylinder bores are flawless. They are bright and clean, with the bore having strong and sharp rifling. The case colored trigger and hammer look great and still retain 99% of their finish. The beautiful factory wood grips on this Model 25 are in excellent condition with some nice dark stripe running thru them. They have the dished out panel on the left grip for a thumb rest and to aid the use of speed loaders, and the checkered panels are still nice and sharp with no signs of wear or damage. They are fit nicely to the gun and are nice and tight to the frame with no wiggle. The action on this Smith is positive and smooth in both single and double action. This Model 25 is in perfect time and it locks up tight with zero wiggle at full lock. It feels and looks like it could have left Smith & Wesson last month and not 30 plus years ago. If you have been looking for a really nice Smith & Wesson 25-5 in .45LC that you could shoot and be proud of, this is the one for you!
