Desirable Mauser Red 9, Reworked per Treaty Versailles to have a 4 inch barrel and fixed sight. SN: 136250. Cal: 9mmP. Typical Red 9 rework with 4 inch barrel, fixed front and rear sight. Short extractor and two lug firing pin. Usual chamber markings with full SN on left chamber flat. Crown/C/Crown/U on left side of barrel extension. Full serial number or last few digits on bolt, bolt stop, hammer, subframe and back of frame. Two line Mauser address on right side of frame. Police markings on front strap crossed out when decommissioned. Disassembly shows a grooved follower, sometimes encountered to better feed the 9mmP cartridge, and all matching serial numbers including the sear that was overstamped, likely during the reworking. Grips with large factory applied Red 9, each panel marked with the full serial number. No lanyard ring. Condition: Approximately 80-85% rust blue with faded floor plate. Comparable condition fire blued parts and original grips. Dull bore with shallow rifling. Safety requires slight manipulation for application. Perfect manual mechanics. One of the most easily recognizable broomhandles reflecting a crossover between WWI and immediate postwar period. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
