Description:
Wonderful condition and all original DWM 1917 Artillery Rig with matching magazine and stock, complete with attached holster, cleaning rod and takedown tool. SN:3731k. Cal: 9mmP. Late production DWM artillery with 8” barrel having drift adjustable front sight and elevation-only rear sight marked 1-8. “1917” chamber date with intertwined “DWM” on middle toggle link and short sear bar. Major components are rust blued. Front sight, rear sight bar and grip screws are fire blued; takedown lever, trigger, safety, ejector, and magazine release are strawed. Full serial number under barrel, on forward frame, and on left side of receiver. Extensive disassembly shows all matching small parts including the firing pin. Each of the beech grip panels is marked with an inspection letter but not matched to the pistol as is correct for these late guns. Right grip panel was lightly marked by previous owner “Sergeant” is decipherable, nothing else. Original matching magazine. Stock is imperial proofed below top strap and has fully matched rust blued lug having strawed lever. Original straps and boot. Dark brown holster. Manufacturer marked on inside flap, date not legible. Blued unmarked takedown tool and cleaning rod with wood handle and all steel shaft including tip. Condition: Pistol has at least 95% original rust blue with expected holster wear around muzzle, forward rails, hump of sideplate and bottom of frontstrap where in contact with holster. Comparable condition strawed and fired blue parts showing no suggestion of enhancement. Excellent grips. Magazine body with oxidative flecking as pictured, base with hairline crack below ‘k’ suffix . Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. Stock and leather components match condition of pistol though boot strap shows considerable crazing. Takedown tool and cleaning rod excellent. An extremely nice, all original and late matching rig that could be easily enhanced by adding an original strap. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
