Description:
This is a rare Boyle and Gamble CS Artillery Short Sword manufactured during the Civil War in Richmond VA.  Located on South Six Street, one block from the old Virginia Armory. Boyle & Gamble of Richmond, Virginia was well known for the manufacture of premium quality Foot Officer swords, as well as many types of Cavalry sabres, Knives, Foot Artillery short swords, Naval cutlasses, Sabre bayonets and Socket bayonets during the Civil War for the Confederacy. This one has be n there and done that. Note the super high copper content in the grip. The blade has pitting in several areas. Probably in or near a fire at some point in its life.  Blade is almost 19 inches. Total length is 24 inches. Guaranteed you will not find a relic condition Boyle and Gamble artillery sword for this price anywhere.
