Description:
This rifle was custom built by Pfeifer Rifle Company, Roscoe, CA in the 1950's. They were known as a quality builder and used quality barrels of their own making. The action is a commercial Belgian,FN, Mauser with the older type bolt shroud safety. Their stocks were made by graduates of the Colorado gunsmithing program on a piecework basis. I believe this one was made by M. Kennedy. Overall condition is 99.9% with only a few very minor marks from handling. Floorplate is of the push button release type and is all steel in construction. Barrel is 26 inches in length and 5/8 inch at the muzzle. Stock is of nice American Walnut and has some color and fiddleback. The fore end extends 13 inches from the front receiver ring and is wide with a flat bottom, making it perfect for bench/varmint shooting. The butt pad is 1/2 inch black Pachmayer. The swivel bases are flush mounted and accept the push button type swivels, which are perfect for bench shooting. Scope bases are Conetrol and are included with the rifle. The rings and scope ARE NOT INCLUDED.
