Description:
This rifle was built by Cogswell & Harrison in January of 1886 as a .450-400 2 3/8" Cordite (Nitro) double rifle. It has 27" English steel barrels, rebounding hammers and is a non ejector. The rifle has a cheek piece and now has a  horn? pad. The  bores are
excellent. The rifle appears to be in original condition. The bottom of the barrels have some very light pitting that is only cosmetic.
There are 3 minor pits on the side of the right barrel about 3" from the breach. This rifle would make an excellant shooter. The rifle comes with a factory letter from Cogswell and Harrison. This rifle was built before the typical English nitro proof marks were in use.
Cogswell & Harrison states in their records  that this rifle was built as a Cordite rifle. Comes with 20 RWS brass cases. The rifle weighs 8 lbs. 2 oz. and has sights for 100 and 200 yards.
