FINE PAIR OF ENGLISH PERCUSSION OFFICERS PISTOLS SIGNED GOLSWORTHY /TAUNTON CA. 1830’S. 11” o/a with 6” smoothbore .66 cal. octagon barrel with platinum band and gold intaglio touch mark stamped “GOLSWORTHY/TAUNTON”. Platinum lined vents. Engraved steel mounts, hammers and lock plates which are engraved w/ maker name “GOLSWORTHY”. Extra quality walnut stocks with finely checkered bag form grips. German silver escutcheons and forend caps. Steel stirrup mounted ramrods. Excellent overall with fine engraving and untouched and very crisp metal. Stocks with the original finish in superior condition. Perfect working order and fine bores. Type carried by British Officer’s and of carbine bore size enabling them to use issue round ball from Ordnance stores. Quite early percussion pistols as well with Thomas Golsworthy (also spelled Goldsworthy) listed dates of operation as 1800 to 1839. Superior quality and condition.
