Description:
Nice Winchester Model 70 standard rifle in .270 Caliber. This is a transition period rifle Mfg. in 1948, but is basically all post WWII with a straight taper tang and all other post war features, except for the clam shell safety generally found only on 1946-48 rifles. 24" Barrel. S/N 88xxx with matching bolt. Correct factory drill holes front and back for scope mounting if desired. Blue is about flawless at 99% with only slight wear showing where rifle rested on heel of butt plate. The wood is also very nice rated at about 96% due to some scattered and shallow, but noticable compression marks, the worst exaggerated by strong light on left butt stock, and a few under wrist/grip. Mechanics and bore are excellent, virtually new. Overall, a good looking rifle from a less common production group.
