Description:
Serial #X1474, .303 British, 25” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome, commercially made BSA rifle that has a matching numbered bolt with an articulated Parker-Hale No. 9F folding rear target sight installed on a correct mounting plate. The metal retains 90-92% of the original blue finish with some scattered spots of minor freckling throughout as well as some mild silvering along the high edges and projections. Additional fading is present on the matching numbered bolt along the bearing surfaces. The walnut forend, buttstock, and handguards have an excellent period varnish with scattered minor handling marks and small surface blemishes throughout. The rifle comes with a single magazine, and is a fine-excellent example of an SMLE target rifle that would make a great addition to any collection.
