Here is one of the most popular chambering in the Colt Shooting Master, the .357 Magnum. This gun dates to 1936 and has the ever popular round butt frame. The gun shows some usage but is in perfect mechanically condition. The timing is right on and the action is tight. The bore is excellent and the factory checkered walnut grips are free from chips and cracks. The grips serialize to the gun as they should. Colt stamped the serial number on each grip of the Shooting Master's and these match the gun (See Photo). The cylinder was made of special high pressure steel on the .357 Magnum model and these are easily idenified by a star that was stamped on the front of the cylinder (See Photo). The Shooting Master was Colt’s top of the line gun in the pre war era and many believe that no better firearm was ever built. Each gun was hand fitted my master craftsmen who put there letter stamp on it. Articles have been written that said if a Shooting Master was ever returned to the factory because it was not perfect then the craftsman who was responsible would have to come in to work on his own time to fix it correctly. Colt was extremely proud of the Shooting Master and when introduced it was the highest priced gun that they made. Only 3500 Shooting Masters were made and just 500 of them were chambered in the .357 Magnum making this a highly collectible gun. Special features include a hand fitted and finely tuned action, checkered front and backstaps, round butt grip frame, smooth non-checkered cylinder release latch, and a non-glare top frame. I offer a three day non firing inspection period and always want the buyer to be satisfied with their purchase. The gun will be packed correctly with the gun in a zipper sleeve and shipped via FedEx Air with insurance to your FFL dealer in the continental United States for $55 (California is extra because I have to ship through my local dealer). This gun requires a C&R or FFL license for transfer. I ship the following day after the payment arrives and provide tracking information.
