Description:
Marked on the backstrap is "Lt CG Atwood from the Men of Co. D 3rd Batt'n Rfls Mass Mil". This set is complete with documents about Lt. Attwood's service. Both guns are fitted very nice in a French style case. Includes 2 dual cavity bullet molds, powder flask and tin percussion cap holders. Both guns are in fine condition. One is 31 cal and the other is 36 cal. They have about 80% glossy blue. Orig grips are good with most varnish remaining. Frame retains a considerable amount of case color. Mechanics are excellent. Case is in fine condition with a few scuffs. Some minor wear on the inside. A plaque on the top of the case says "C G Attwood". Very interesting well documented piece of Civil War history. To my knowledge this is the only cased set of Coopers that has surfaced.
