Description:
This is late Second Model 44 S&W American single action revolver. The serial number is 31551. The serial numbers for the Second Model ran all the way to 32000 so this one was made in 1874. It retains about 75% original finish of which has mostly turned a plum color; but there are nice traces of blue in the protected areas. The bore is very good bright and shiny with some frosting from the corrosive powders. The mechanical function is very good crisp and tight and the assembly numbers match. The grip number matches the butt serial number. This is a real Cowboy and Indian Wars period single action revolver.
