Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are especially proud to offer this fine example of Winchester's highly sought after small bore pump gun, the model 42. Made in the year of our Lord 1933, this was the first year for these slender beauties. Not the plain Jane model, this is the Skeet version, with a straight stock, elongated forend, and checkering. She is in good condition for being 86 years old. There are some light handling marks, and some drifting of the blue, but light use and good care are evident. The stampings are clear and sharp, and the action crisp. The bore of the 26 inch barrel is bright, and is choked modified as indicated. Both proof marks are present, and the tiny matted receiver top is a sight to behold. These scale versions of the model 12 hold their value very well, and variations boost value even further. If you have been looking for the right 42 to collect or for investment, but want the added clout of a first year Skeet gun, then look no further. Attention, investors. A near twin of this gun, made in 1941, just sold for 4500 dollars at one of the big gun s.
