Description:
This is a Model 1935/06 Mauser Banner Commercial Contract Portuguese Luger. Only 564 were produced for the Portuguese government. This Luger model is distinctive because it has no stock lug but has a grip safety. It is in 7.65mm Para caliber with a 4 ¾” barrel. The top of the chamber is marked with the entwined letters “GNR” which stands for Garde Nationale Republicane (Portuguese National Guard). The toggle link has the Mauser Banner on it. All numbers are matching except for the magazine. The safety is marked “Seguranca”. The serial number is 4 digit with a “v” near the serial number stamped above the trigger guard. Notice that the wooden grip on the left side still retains the complete grip near the safety lever. Many times there is a small piece missing where the safety lever has broken it off. This one is complete. There is some blueing worn on the high points, but no scrapes, dings, pits, or rust anywhere on the gun. The bore is excellent. This is a very desirable collectors piece in very good or better condition.
