Purdey house style, deeply cut small scroll with rose bouquet engraving covers the color case hardened sidelocks, operating lever, trigger guard, tang, butt plate and forend latching hardware. The trigger guard is rolled for a right handed shooter. "J. Purdey & Sons" is on the bottom of each lockplate and "J. Purdey & Sons, London, England" is on the bottom of the action.
Beautifully marbled, dark European walnut is used for the English straight grip stock and splinter forearm. The forearm features an Anson release and 32LPI checkering in the Purdey pattern. The stock has matching checkering on the grip and features a recessed gold oval on the toeline with the initials "T.S.W.".
The near new motor case has the initials "T.S.W." embossed on the lid. The corners are leather reinforced and the case is lined with burgundy cloth and has the maker's label and specification card in the lid. The accessories include a rosewood cleaning rod, Purdey snap caps, nickel plated striker bottle and case key. The case and accessories, like the gun, show little handling and practically no use.
