WINCHESTER MODEL 70 PRE '64 7X57mm ... 22" Custom Octagon Barrel ... LOA 42 1/2" ... LOP 13 1/2" ... DAH 1 1/2" ... DAC 1" Winchester Custom Shop Action.
The receiver is mounted with Conetrol blocks and rings with a Hunting Z 3.5-10x50mm scope. The bolt is polished with a blued extractor and two panel checkered bolt handle. The floor plate is marked "SUPER EXPRESS". The bolt release is custom shaped and checkered. The tapered octagon barrel was manufactured without sights. The barrel is marked "7x57" and "CNN"on the upper left flat. Good as custom built with 99% of the current blue. The receiver, bolt handle, and extractor have taken on a slight plum hue.
The stock is a single piece of nicely figured, extra fancy English walnut with bold, dark mineral lines, fancy carved forearm tip, Fleur de Lis checkering at the forearm, pistol grip, and sling swivel studs. The solid rubber recoil pad is leather faced. The stock is very good with attractive grain and nice figuring.
