Description:
This is an original J. Stevens Model 44 produced between 1912 and 1915. It is a single shot, rolling block action chambered for 32-40. It has a 24” half octagonal barrel. The barrel has most of it’s original finish, with some wear around the corners of the octagonal section. The bore is in decent condition and has retained it’s rifling. This rifle has a simple front sight and an elevation-adjustable rear sight. The receiver has developed a brown patina and has a cluster of small dings on the left side. The wood stock and curved buttplate are in good condition, as is the wood forend. Good wood to metal fit. The length of pull is 13-½” and the overall length is 42”. Our stock number is #A240.
