Built on a Mauser military action with a light weight tapered octagon barrel manufactured without fixed sights. The high polished blue receiver has been "octagonized" to match the barrel. It is drilled, tapped and fitted with Buehler bases, Buehler engraved rings and a Carl Zeiss 3-9x50 Conquest scope. The bolt body and extractor have been brilliantly jewelled. The bolt handle has been reshaped to a custom octagon shape. The floorplate and triggerguard feature detailed floral scroll engraving with the initials "RWI" in gold inlaid fancy script just forward of the floorplate. The safety is a very fine custom tang safety with positive detents at both safe and fire positions. The custom single stage trigger is excellent.
Mounted on a nicely figured checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with oak leaf and acorn carved borders, rosewood grip cap, shadow line cheekpiece, engraved ivory and gold grip end inlay, nicely veed rosewood forend tip. Finished with a solid, red rubber, and leather faced recoil pad. The stock is very good with intricate carving, scattered light handling marks and wood plugs where the sling swivel studs have been removed. Very fine as professionally built and finished with 99% of the polished blue finish with minimal scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Optics are very clear.
