Ruger # 1 Varmint Model, Caliber 7MM Rem Magnum new in the box .The Varmint model #1 is a heavy 24 inch barrel. Ruger has not manufactured the Ruger #1 V in 7MM Rem Mag since the 1980's, even then it was rare. Yes it has the "Red" butt pad!
I bought this gun new back in the day and it is still unfired. It comes from the factory with target block mounts that will easily support the the big target scopes. I would think that it is a real "tack driver".
The gun is in perfect condition, the wood is mostly a straight grain walnut with some good color.
